Critters

Little critters are sort of perfect in their various imperfections. No one is sad to receive a little clay critter, even if they are sort of smeared or if their legs don’t all firmly touch the ground. Some are designed to be held in a comforting way in a pocket, others are meant to be seen. Most are meant to be sometimes-seen, a little reward for a wandering eye. A little comforting presence in the a bookcase or next to a teacup in the pantry.

Made with really no rhyme or reason, rarely with a preconceived design in mind. All intuition and listening to the form, a lesson in sitting back to see what kinds of shapes the clay wants to be.
